The Next Step Father and Son Adventure creates anatmosphere to facilitatethe turning of a father’s heart to his son and his son’s heart to his father, which includes the fatherless sons of our community.

So often fathers feel helpless with so many different influences that are trying to command their son’s attention, from the media to the schools to their peers to video games to texting to iPods to cell phones and to technology in general.  It's becoming more and more difficult for the father’s voice to be heard above all the noise. The Next Step Father and Son Adventure is designed to give fathers a fresh perspective and a new starting point to encourage them not to give up their voice and influence in their son’s life as well as giving their sons a fresh perspective of their father’s voice and the importance of his role in their life.

The Next Step Father and Son Adventure is designed to give fathers and sons a PRACTICAL STRATEGY FOR DAILY LIVING; one that focuses on their relationship with God, their family, friends, church and community. It is a time set aside, away from the distractions of daily living, where relationships will be evaluated, interests can be rekindled and new growth may be cultivated.

The first of our FOUR ESSENTIALS is to create an ENVIRONMENT where participants can remain focused and free of daily distractions. The second necessary element is CONTENT that will challenge both our sons and fathers in order to bring them to a point of commitment to the importance of their relationships in each other’s lives. The third component is FOLLOW-UP where a strategy of guidelines and accountability for goals are set and commitments are established before it is over. The fourth item, which is the glue that holds it all together, is PRAYER the vital link to a changed heart.

Our strategy is simple and effective.  Relationships are established, commitments are made, character is developed and turned hearts are the result. We do this by focusing on seven key principles that will give each person some practical tools for living:

Music, drama, camp fires and core-group experiences are just a few of the dynamic activities that make the Next Step Father and Son Adventure experience an exciting and unique adventure of a lifetime.
